Park Resorts Rules

Information About Your 2010 Self-Catering Holiday

Please note that unless stated otherwise, all details relate to 2010 bookings..

Arrival and departure times
Your accommodation is available from 4pm on the day of your arrival once it has been cleaned and prepared for you. We are happy to welcome you at the Park earlier and when your accommodation is ready you may move in.
In order for us to prepare for our next guests we do ask that you vacate your accommodation by 10am on your day of departure.

Late arrivals
If you expect to arrive after 7pm on the first day of your stay, please let the Park know so that we can make arrangements for you to collect your keys. Unless the Park is previously notified, you must claim your accommodation by 8 am on the day after your holiday was due to start, otherwise we will treat your booking as cancelled.

Great family holidays
Park Resorts and their facilities are intended for family holidays. We are therefore sorry that we cannot accept any parties of single people under the age of 18. Other parties of young people are accepted only at the Company's discretion. Please note that if you look younger than 21, you may be asked to prove you are over 18.

Special requirements
If you have any other special requests regarding your holiday accommodation please advise us when making your booking and confirm your request in writing either by post or email including your telephone number in case of any query. We will endeavour to meet your requests, however this cannot be guaranteed and is not a condition of booking.

Guests with disabilities
We are happy to provide as much advice and information as possible to people with disabilities who wish to holiday at our Parks. It is important that you talk to our Sales Hotline before making the booking as, for example, not all Parks or accommodation are suitable for guests with disabilities and wheelchair access may be limited. Many of our Parks have caravans specially adapted for wheelchair users. Please note that due to their weight and size, other accommodation is not suitable for electric wheelchairs. All requirements must be confirmed in writing or email. Special requests cannot be made a condition of your booking as they are always subject to availability.

Dogs and other Pets
Most dogs are welcome in selected accommodation, at a charge of £50 per dog per week and £30 per dog per short break, up to a maximum of two animals per accommodation unit. Other pets may be permitted at the discretion of the Park General Manager. Please contact the Park direct to discuss charges prior to making your booking.
Please note that dogs are not allowed at Eyemouth Holiday Park. Where dogs are allowed, they must always wear a collar and identity tag and be kept on a lead under the control of a responsible adult at all times. They must not be left in accommodation unattended. Dogs and other pets are not allowed in facility buildings, restaurants or food serving areas and swimming pool areas. Dogs are allowed only in Bronze standard accommodation excluding 2009 and 2010 model caravans. These restrictions do not apply to guide dogs. We reserve the right to require the owner of any dog or other pet to remove it from the Park if we consider it a nuisance or to be interfering with the general comfort of guests.
Certain types of dog are not allowed on any Park Resorts Park, in order to maintain the safety and well being of all our guests. These include, but are not restricted to, Pitbull Terrier, Dogo Argentino, Fila Brasiliero and Japanese Tosa.
At the Park's discretion any dog may be refused or removed from the Park should it be considered a nuisance, or to be affecting the comfort of other guests.

Travel cots and highchairs
Travel Cots for caravans and chalets are available at a charge of £10 per break. Your travel cot must be collected from reception, where £10 deposit is also payable. This deposit will be returned to you once the travel cot is taken back to reception in the condition it was hired, at the end of your holiday. Please remember to bring your own cot linen. In most accommodation the travel cots will fit in the living room only. A limited number of highchairs can be hired at most Parks. Please contact the Park direct for details.
All of the above are subject to availability. Please request at the time of booking.

Children
Children remain the responsibility of their parents or guardians at all times, as they do at any of our activities or facilities. The club activities form part of our entertainment programme, and are not childcare facilities. We do not provide supervision of the children during sessions.
It is important that you always know where your children are, and that you know the times that the activities start and finish. It is particularly important that you make sure that your children understand that they should always obey the instructions of the Teamstars, The Mix Leaders, Sports Instructors and Lifeguards, so that the possibility of accidents can be reduced.

Your Holiday Environment
Our Parks are situated in rural locations, many of them in Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, on Heritage Coasts and adjacent to Sites of Special Scientific Interest or Conservation Areas.

They will probably be unfamiliar to you, and because of this it is advisable to acquaint yourselves with your holiday environment as soon as you arrive. Walking over grassy and often undulating ground, or through wooded parkland may also be unfamiliar, and contain aspects of wildlife such as rabbit holes that you and your children need to avoid.

Local Authority planning constraints, that help to preserve the rural nature of the Parks, also limits the amount of street lighting that can be provided at some locations for the same reason. It is also intentionally reduced to assist children to sleep at night.

So please take care when walking around the Park and remember that you are in an unfamiliar environment, particularly at night. It is always advisable to carry a pocket torch to assist you and to avoid any holiday accidents.

In line with current legislation, please note that with effect from April 1st, 2007 all venues at Park Resorts Holiday Parks in Wales will be designated non smoking areas. With effect from July 1st, 2007 all remaining Park Resorts Holiday Parks in England will follow the new legislation meaning that all their venues will also be designated non smoking areas. The legislation does not apply to holiday accommodation.

Please take care
Please treat the property, facilities and accommodation at your Park with respect and care so that other guests may continue to enjoy them. In the event that you notice damage to any facility or in your accommodation please report it to reception immediately so that we can take appropriate action.
Accommodation will be inspected at the end of the holiday and you may be charged for any loss or damage found. We reserve the right to enter accommodation under any special circumstances or emergencies.

Licensing Laws
In accordance with UK licensing laws, we can only sell alcohol to persons aged 18 or over. We may require you to show proof of age using an approved form of identification. We accept the following forms of ID at Park Resorts: full passport, a new style driver's licence incorporating a photograph, a valid proof of age card.

Please refer to the "Your holiday environment" or "Availability of facilities and entertainment" sections for information regarding the new smoking legislation.

Use of your holiday home
Only those people listed on the booking can occupy your accommodation and use the facilities of the Park. If this legal requirement is not met, your booking will be terminated and you will be asked to leave, with no refund made.
If you have any friends who wish to visit you while you are staying with us, please see the Duty Manager who will arrange a day pass for them.
We would also ask holidaymakers to refrain from smoking in accommodation.

Unreasonable behaviour
For the convenience of our guests, we reserve the right to terminate the party's holiday without compensation, where the unreasonable behaviour of the persons in the holiday party might impair the enjoyment, comfort or health of other guests, our team members or staff.
This may include but is not limited to: verbal or physical abuse and will be up to management discretion.

Infectious diseases
Infectious or contagious diseases could easily be passed to other guests while on holiday. You must inform the Duty Manager should you contract any such illness while on holiday. In order to protect our guests and staff, anyone found to have such a condition may be confined or requested to leave the Park. Please note that in such circumstances we are unable to offer refunds and we therefore recommend you take out insurance.

Prices
We reserve the right to increase prices only where there is an increase in Value Added Tax or any other tax applicable to your holiday. From 1st December 2008 VAT is calculated at 15%. For more information on how this affects you please visit our FAQs section.
Certain caravans and chalets are let by us on behalf of private owners who are not registered for VAT. In such cases the price shown in the brochure does not include VAT on the booking charge, but does include a handling fee (which includes VAT). In any event the price shown remains the same and does not affect the customer.

If you have a comment
If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of your holiday, please speak to the Park Reception. In most cases they will be able to help you immediately so that you can enjoy the rest of your stay. However, if you are still dissatisfied, you must then make an appointment to see the Duty Manager and record your complaint with them. If, at the end of your holiday, you feel that we have not dealt with your complaint satisfactorily, please write to the General Manager at the Park no later than 28 days after the end of your holiday. We are only able to take action on any complaints that are first brought to the attention of the Reception team and Duty Manager whilst you are on your holiday and secondly received in writing within 28 days, unless there are exceptional circumstances.
